We're pleased to announce that KlipFolio 4, now with Mini-Sidebars, is here. If you've been following the beta development, reading this blog or helping us out in the forum, you've already seen what version 4 has in store. If not, today will be like christmas.
There are many new features, however the ones that will stand out most are KlipFolio's sidebar, topbar and bottombar layout capabilities. You can even have multiple combinations, including the traditional "floating" mode. Side, top and bottom bars can be set to reserve space, sit on top of windows or even auto-hide. Myself, I have a sidebar on the right edge of my desktop that is always visible and contains data that I want to keep an eye on throughout the day, and I've placed a number of other Klips inside of a topbar that I have auto-hidden. It's very cool.
By now you're thinking, hey, that means that KlipFolio now supports groups of Klips. You're right, you can very easily arrange Klips into groups using KlipFolio 4. Each group has its own toolbar, which can be used to move your group around.
Also new is Liquid Klips, a physics-based positioning system that will make arranging your Klips much quicker and easier. Now Klips will simply move out of the way and reposition themselves to help you find a perfect layout.
Then there are new types of Klips; System Monitoring Klips that can access CPU, Memory, Wi-Fi, and Battery status; Frame Klips that can display webcams and images in a fully resizable region; and brand new Search Klips that will be new even to our beta testers. Check out all the new Built for 4 Klips.
Download it, take some time to try out all of the new features and ways of interacting with your Klips. Add some new Klips and share it with your friends (using the new "Send to Friend" feature).
We're now just days away from our official KlipFolio 4 launch. The beta program is now closed, and we wanted to send out a special thanks to all of the beta testers. It was great again to see so many familiar "faces" participating. Your help has saved us time and increased the quality of KlipFolio.

Friday evening, we uploaded KlipFolio 4 Beta C!
This is the last beta release before we launch KlipFolio 4. Although we are now focusing primarily on stability and performance, we did find the time to add the ability to "lock" auto-hidden sidebars (double-click on the sidebar to lock it, and then again to unlock it). Please take it for a spin and let us know what you think.

If you are a Klip author, you likely got an e-mail from us yesterday. And if you'd like, you'll get an email next month also, and every month thereafter. It contains summarized statistics of all your live Klips for the previous month. Why are we doing this? Well, we hope that the information will be of use to Klip authors who may not have the time to keep a close eye on their Klip’s performance. We also wanted to bring attention to the some of the stats that authors have access to that they might not know about.
One of the lesser known features that we rolled out with the new version of KlipFolio.com last year is the enhanced usage statistics that are now available to all users (previously you had to pay to get access to them). These stats show you:
By default your Klips won’t be reporting these statistics. To enable them, all you need to do is add
report
true /reportsetup
Now, if you'd rather not receive monthly stats via e-mail, you can change your subscription settings by logging in to your KlipFolio.com account and clicking on "Modify Account". There you'll find options to unsubscribe from all of KlipFolio.com's newsletters.
