Crash & Workaround

Posted by jeremyH on (2007-04-20)
Hi meto,

I tried the Klip and it seems to crash KlipFolio when the Close button in the Setup window is clicked (after clicking the Refresh button).

We did a bit of debugging and found that calling Items.clear(true) from within the onClose handler seems to be the cause. We'll take a look into why KlipFolio is doing that, but in the meantime you could move the Items.clear(true) to the start of onRefresh, possibly using a boolean to determine whether or not to clear the items.

Hi Jeremy,

I was not able to reproduce this on my system. I updated the Klip following your suggestion. Does it work now for you?

Regards,

Daniel

The latest version (1.0.3) works great. What I did to get the crash was: load Klip; open Setup window; enter calendar XML location; click Refresh; click Close. We saw the crash happen on 2 different computers here.

We're looking into why v1.0.2 crashed KlipFolio - its not something you did wrong, the code you wrote should have worked. Nice Klip, btw :)

Thanks Jeremy. :)

There's a known issue: Klip will not always alert. Will have a look at this in the next days. (Edit: fixed in v1.0.4)

Notifications

Posted by meto on (2007-05-08)
Finally Google has updated the notification system. Though, they didn't update the calendar feeds to follow these changes. So, from now the Klip won't alert at all.

My private server, where some images for this klip are stored, has crashed. I will set it up again during the next week...

Edit: My server is back online. Icons for multiple calendars do work again.

This is solution to my problems

Thanks a lot for this klip. This is the first one google calendar, which completely fits my expectation and make my klipfolio fully useful. :-)

Thanks for your response, deQuire. Glad you like it. :-)

VTODO support

Posted by davidwann on (2007-06-04)
This is a great klip. I now sync my Pocket PC to Thunderbird, then to Google Calendar, and back to my KilpFolio Desktop. What would be great is a separate Klip that displays the calendar VTODO items.

David.

All day events

Posted by Akira on (2007-11-19)
Hey meto,

First of all: great klip, nice job. It seems I bumped into a bug though. Event that last the whole day are sometimes removed from the list, until you refresh it manually. I think it has something to do with the time indication of an event that lasts all day (0:00) Anyways, would be cool if you fixed that.

Another thing I noted, is that there may be a bug when there are multiple agendas (some events are not shown), however I cannot confirm this at the moment.

Kind regards,

Akira

Thanks for usefull klip.
But there is one bug - my calendar named by russian lang, and in settings tab it displayed totally unreadable, because of unicode.
And one wish - if it possible, get names for days of week and months from current mashine locale or make it customisable
