Sean’s role as Manager of Internal Communications for a software vendor brings Executives and employees together.
Last night, Sean and the Web master learned the firm is being acquired by a rival. This morning Internal Communications must prepare a notification to inform the workforce. It’s important that each employee hears the news at the same time. However, both firms are publicly traded so employee notification can’t go out until the market gets the press release at 9:00 AM.
Fortunately, his team deployed Klipfolio Dashboard for Internal Communications to every employee desktop just 2 months ago. In the last 8 weeks, Sean’s assistant has used the desktop dashboard to deliver passive announcements, weather forecasts, and stock quotes.
Sean drafts an announcement for the CEO and sends a copy to the Web master for use on the corporate intranet. Meanwhile, he uses Klipfolio Dashboard to write and schedule an active employee alert to pop up on every desktop at 9:01 AM. In addition to the headline, the alert contains a link to the new intranet page. Because of the importance of the news, he opts for a persistent alert – employees need to click the alert to indicate they’ve seen it before it disappears.
By 8:35 AM, the employee notification is set, approved, and ready to go. Sean refills his coffee, prepares a quick briefing for his team, and calls the PR Director to see if she needs any help. It’s going to be a busy day.
