Klipfolio doubles customer base, taps ex-IBM executive for extended marketing push
By: James Bagnall
Just eight months ago, Klipfolio co-founder Allan Wille was talking about getting ahead of the curve. He wanted to invest heavily in new hires and marketing to take advantage of his startup’s surprising momentum.
He’s been true to his word. His company — which makes software that lets employees mash up many streams of corporate data to discern fresh patterns — has doubled the number of customers to 2,000. Klipfolio has also doubled its head count to 30, including the hiring this week of Mychelle Mollot as chief marketing officer.
Mollot comes to Klipfolio from IBM, where she had served as vice-president of marketing for — yes, this is a real title — websphere and mobile solutions. Well, technically, she left IBM in June to do some “soul-searching” — she very soon concluded she would apply her skills to a startup. A friend supplied the introduction to Klipfolio’s founders Allan Wille and Peter Matthews.
