How to connect Oracle to Klipfolio
Klipfolio connects to Oracle databases using its SQL data source. The setup requires your database host, port, credentials, and an SQL query.
- In the left navigation bar, click Data Sources. If you don't see this option, click your Account Name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Data Sources.
- Click Create a New Data Source and select SQL Query.
- Fill in the connection fields: Host, Port, Database, Driver (select Oracle Thin or Oracle OCI), Username, Password, and SQL Query.
- Choose your Connection security settings. Select Use SSL/TLS if required, and optionally enable TLS v1.2.
- If your database is behind a firewall, click Use an SSH tunnel and enter the required credentials.
- Click Get data and save the data source.
Before connecting, add Klipfolio's IP addresses to your database allow list. If your Oracle instance is hosted on AWS, add those same IP addresses to your DB security group.

Top reasons to use Klipfolio for Oracle dashboards
There's no shortage of ways to query Oracle data. Here's why teams use Klipfolio to surface it.
Real-time visibility into database metrics. Write a query once and Klipfolio refreshes the data automatically, from every minute to every 24 hours, so your dashboard always reflects current state.
No manual exports. Skip the CSV download cycle. Your Oracle data flows directly into Klipfolio, eliminating the lag and errors that come with manual reporting.
Flexible querying with pre-built and custom requests. Use pre-built queries like table selects to get started quickly, or write your own SQL to pull exactly the metrics your team needs.
Centralized reporting across data sources. Combine Oracle data with metrics from other tools in a single dashboard. Your team gets one view instead of switching between systems.
Distribute dashboards your way. Share via public link, embed in internal tools, schedule PDF exports, or display on a TV in the office. Klipfolio gives you ten distribution methods built in.
Oracle in Klipfolio vs. Oracle on its own
| What you do in Oracle | What Klipfolio adds |
|---|---|
| Run queries manually to check metrics | Automated dashboards that refresh on a schedule |
| Export results to spreadsheets for sharing | Live dashboards accessible to your whole team |
| Build reports in separate tools | One centralized view combining Oracle with other data sources |
| Monitor one database at a time | Side-by-side visibility across databases and metrics |
Stop copying query results into spreadsheets. Connect Oracle to Klipfolio and build dashboards that update themselves.
