How to connect Podio to Klipfolio
Podio connects to Klipfolio using OAuth authentication. The setup takes about four steps.
- Go to your data sources, click Create a New Data Source, and select Podio from the Connector Gallery.
- Click Create a custom Podio data source, then select Connect an account. You'll be redirected to Podio to enter your credentials and log in.
- Write your query URL using the Podio API documentation or the examples below. Set Data Format to JSON and Method to GET, then click Get data.
- Confirm the data looks correct, name your data source, set a refresh schedule, and click Save.
Sample query URLs:
- Contacts:
https://api.podio.com/contact
- Tasks:
https://api.podio.com/task?completed=false&org=123456
- App items:
https://api.podio.com/item/app/12345678?limit=500

How to build a Podio dashboard
There are two ways to build dashboards using Podio data in Klipfolio.
Pre-built data requests: Select pre-built Podio queries directly from the Connector Gallery. These pull in common data sets — contacts, tasks, and app items — without any configuration.
Custom data requests: Write your own Podio API queries in the Connector Gallery to pull in exactly the data your team tracks.
Both methods give you the same outcome: live Podio data feeding into a dashboard you control.
Top reasons to use Klipfolio for Podio dashboards
- Real-time visibility across projects: Your dashboard refreshes automatically, so your team always sees current task status and workload without manual exports.
- Centralized reporting: Combine Podio data with metrics from other tools — finance, CRM, marketing — in one place instead of switching between apps.
- Flexible layouts: Build dashboards tailored to your team's workflow using 30+ visualization types and Excel-like formulas for custom calculations.
- Controlled distribution: Share dashboards with specific team members, display them on office screens in TV mode, or send scheduled PDF reports — without giving everyone access to the underlying data.
- Scalable data handling: Retrieve up to 500 records per query, with pagination support for larger datasets, so your dashboard grows with your project volume.
