How to connect DB2 to Klipfolio
Klipfolio connects to DB2 using a direct SQL query over JDBC. Before you start, add Klipfolio's IP addresses to your DB2 allow list so the connection can reach your server.
- In the left navigation bar, click Data Sources. If you don't see this option, click your Account Name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Data Sources.
- Click Create a New Data Source and select SQL Query.
- Fill in your connection details: Host, Port, Database, Driver (select DB2), Username, Password, and your SQL Query.
- Choose whether to Include column headers in the results.
- Under Connection security, select Use SSL/TLS if your DB2 instance requires it. Optionally enable TLS v1.2 or turn off certificate validation (not recommended).
- If your database is behind a firewall, click Use an SSH tunnel and enter the required SSH credentials.
- Click Get data and follow the prompts to save your data source.

Top reasons to use Klipfolio for DB2 dashboards
Real-time visibility into your database metrics. Query DB2 on a schedule — from every minute to every 24 hours — so your dashboards always reflect current data without manual exports.
Flexible data modelling with spreadsheet-style formulas. Use 100+ Excel-like functions to transform, filter, and combine DB2 query results directly in Klipfolio, no additional ETL tooling required.
Centralized reporting across multiple sources. Blend DB2 data with other connected services — CRMs, marketing platforms, financial tools — in a single dashboard view.
Secure, role-based distribution. Share dashboards with specific team members, embed them in internal portals, or display them on office TVs using granular permission controls.
No-code setup for non-technical users. Once a data source is configured, anyone on your team can build and customize dashboards without writing SQL or touching the connection settings.
